At this point I feel very comfortable with formatting my papers. I have used the basic MLA format for all of my classes here at IUSB. Sometimes I still have a few questions about proper citation, but I err on the side of caution if I'm not sure about something and cite it anyway.

IUgirl, I understand where you are coming from when you said that you are not sure when to cite, I am the same way. I know that there obvious times to cite but to me I am not sure when it comes to common expressions that I see in other writings with quotation marks around them like "at the end of the day", I have no clue who to credit with a phrase like that so I am not sure if I should use quotation marks or not. Hopefully by the end of the semester this will become a little more clear to the both of us.

Like cobraii351, I too know what you mean about not being sure when to cite. I am like you IUgirl because I will cite sometimes even when it may not be necessary just to be safe. I have used the MLA format through high school and also in college and still haven't mastered it, but I'm sure that it will get easier through this class.
